Engineer AI & Data Systems Engineer (Remote) at Ceribell

Builds and maintains production infrastructure for internal AI tools and data systems, writing application code across the stack and managing deployment and DevOps.

Mid Remote Posted about 23 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Ceribell

Ceribell is a medical technology company focused on transforming the diagnosis and management of patients with serious neurological conditions. The Ceribell System is a novel, point-of-care electroencephalography (“EEG”) platform specifically designed to address the unmet needs of patients in the acute care setting, and is being used in hundreds of community hospitals, large academic facilities and major IDN’s across the country. Our entire team is driven by a shared commitment to transforming the landscape of critical care through our rapid seizure detection technology, come join the movement!

Position Overview:

The AI & Data Systems Engineer will be a key individual contributor on Ceribell’s Data Architecture & Engineering team, responsible for much of the hands-on implementation work that turns architectural plans into reality. This role exists at the intersection of software development, data engineering, and DevOps as someone who is equally comfortable writing application code and managing the infrastructure those systems run on.

A significant part of this role involves taking ideas and early-stage prototypes for AI-powered internal tools and engineering them into stable, supportable internal applications. The ideal candidate is a versatile builder who can move fluidly across layers of the stack, understands when something is production-ready versus when it needs to be rebuilt properly, and takes pride in writing code and infrastructure that others can maintain and build on.

What you’ll do:

  • Implement internal tools and applications based on architectural direction from the Director of Data Architecture & Engineering, including taking stakeholder prototypes and re-engineering them into production-grade systems.
  • Manage and maintain the infrastructure supporting internal AI tools and data systems, including deployment, configuration, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Write clean, well-documented code across whatever languages and frameworks the work requires; apply sound engineering practices around testing, version control, and code review.
  • Evaluate and integrate AI tools and third-party services into internal workflows where they provide clear value, with attention to security, cost, and long-term maintainability.
  • Contribute to data quality practices: implementing automated checks, investigating pipeline failures, and helping establish clear data ownership and lineage.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements, surface technical tradeoffs, and deliver solutions that meet actual needs rather than assumed ones.
  • Support access control and permissions management across systems and tooling, contributing to the team’s broader security and governance practices.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of systems, data flows, and processes so that institutional knowledge is preserved and accessible.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by your Manager/Supervisor

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3 - 6 years of hands-on experience in a technical role spanning some combination of software development, data engineering, and infrastructure or DevOps work.
  • Experience implementing and deploying AI solutions in a production environment, including model integration, API usage, and operational maintenance.
  • Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g. Python) and comfort picking up new languages or frameworks as the work demands.
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, including working with APIs, relational databases, and cloud data platforms.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps practices and tools: CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand existing codebases, including prototypes or AI-generated code, assess their quality, and refactor or rebuild them as appropriate.
  • Familiarity with enterprise business systems such as Snowflake, Salesforce, NetSuite, or similar platforms, including working with their APIs and data models.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical decisions clearly to non-technical colleagues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience accepted.

Compensation:

San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and New York City Metropolitan Locations: $161K - $173K

All other National Locations: $141K - $162K

Compensation Range

$141,000—$173,000 USD

A candidate’s final salary offer will be based on their skills, education, work location and experience, and thus it may differ from the posted range. Compensation may also include bonuses consistent with Ceribell’s corporate compensation plan. Note, the above description is not all-encompassing and Ceribell reserves the right to change or modify job duties and assignments at any time.

In addition to your base compensation, Ceribell offers eligible employees the following:

  • Performance-based incentive compensation (varies by role)
  • Equity opportunities
  • 100% Employer paid Health Benefits for Employees
  • 50% - 70% Employer paid Health, Dental & Vision for dependents (depending on plan selection)
  • 100% paid Life and Long-Term Disability Insurance
  • 401(k) with a generous company match
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) with a discount
  • Monthly cell phone stipend
  • Flexible paid time off
  • 13 Paid Holidays + 3 Company Wellness Days
  • Excellent parental leave policy
  • Fantastic culture with tremendous career advancement opportunities

From hobbyists to multinational corporations, teams of every size use Tailscale each day to protect their networks, share access to internal tools, and more. We’re building a future for the Internet that’s easy, sensible, and safe, like it used to be. Founded in 2019 and fully distributed, we’re backed by Accel, CRV, Insight, Heavybit, and Uncork Capital.

Job Description

We’re seeking a skilled and diligent full-time Software Engineer to join our growing team. You will work as part of the engineering team to:

  • Utilize extensive network engineering knowledge coupled with software development and SRE/DevOps proficiency to design, construct, and oversee Tailscale’s global Funnel and DERP relay infrastructure.
  • Promote operational excellence and automation to guarantee the scalability, high availability, and performance of hosted services.
  • Offer architectural guidance and troubleshoot escalated networking problems for customers to address intricate connectivity issues.
  • Partner with internal engineering and product groups to advance hosted services and clients, ensuring updates provide broad value to our customer base.
  • Support network connectivity capabilities and features by contributing to the open-source client code and developing the Tailscale product dataplane.

Because we’re an early-stage and fully remote company, we’re looking for a strongly motivated individual who can help move the product forward. The ability to think on your feet, collaborate with highly technical teams, and comfort working asynchronously are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, construct, evaluate, and provide documentation for networking features, connectivity solutions, and the open-source client-code network dataplane.
  • Enhance and iterate on product capabilities, specifically focusing on Funnel and DERP relay infrastructures and their associated network protocols.
  • Investigate and rectify complex, escalated network difficulties encountered across diverse technical environments.

  • Evaluate and boost the performance, reliability, and scaling capabilities of our networking resources and systems.
  • Apply a security-centric approach to every stage of development, from initial design to final implementation of networking components.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven track record in networking software development and troubleshooting
  • Expertise in core networking principles such as VPNs, NAT traversal, routing, and IP addressing
  • Experience with distributed systems, maintaining global-scale services, and applying SRE & DevOps methodologies
  • Most of the systems are developed in the Go programming language. Experience with Go is highly desired.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for exchanging constructive feedback and the autonomy to work solo
  • Adaptability to thrive within a fast-paced startup environment
  • Superior communication abilities, both in writing and speaking

As a company, we strive to maintain fair and equitable compensation practices within our team across all roles and all levels. Tailscale’s compensation package includes base salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The salary range displayed on each job posting represents the target range for a new hire’s base salary. Individual offers may vary based on experience and skill set.

US Pay Range

$163,000—$226,000 USD

Frequently cited statistics show that people who identify with historically marginalized groups are likely to apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. We encourage you to help us break that statistic!

What We Offer

  • An inclusive, flexible environment where you can be your authentic self. We recognize the impact of diverse voices and backgrounds on the growth of our people, product, and company. And that flexibility in how and when you work empowers our team to integrate work and life.
  • A competitive total compensation package. This includes a base salary, an equity incentive plan and variable commission (for quota-based roles).
  • Comprehensive group benefits with no waiting period. Take advantage of coverage for health, vision, dental, and more for you and your family!
  • Remote first company—most of our teams work fully remotely. Enjoy a change of scenery wherever you can get wifi, participate in virtual and in-person social events, and leverage our corporate co-working program to visit WeWork (or other similar spaces near you). Some roles require in-office collaboration depending on team needs, which will be clearly noted in the job description.
  • Connect with other Tailscalars IRL. Attend our annual company retreat, participate in team off-sites, and collaborate in person with teammates across Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. We support intentional in-person connection through team travel and distributed collaboration.
  • Support for your personal and professional development. Grow your career thoughtfully with $1500 USD annually for professional development, or take advantage of mentorship, coaching, and internal promotion opportunities.
  • Paid time off and a healthy work-life integration. Our flexible, paid time off program supports you for any situation life throws your way, whether moving homes or travelling the world!
  • A build-your-own home office setup. You choose your own company-owned laptop (Mac or PC), receive a monthly home internet reimbursement, and $1000 USD to customize your workstation to make it your own.
  • Generous parental leave program from your first day. We care about your life outside of work and encourage new parents to take advantage of parental leave top-ups for up to 26 weeks.

Blockchain Engineer / Analyst (Remote, Full-time or Contract)

About us – FairGambling We're a fast-growing platform in the online gaming space. Not a casino ourselves, but the layer on top of it: we review, compare, and analyze operators across the industry, with transparency as the whole point. A lot of what we cover happens onchain, so we don't take operator numbers at face value – we verify them. Player reviews are checked against real on-platform activity, not just star ratings. The goal is simple: give players the honest picture the industry usually doesn't.

The role A lot of what we verify lives onchain. We're hiring someone who's comfortable there – building tooling, tracking transactions across chains, and following contracts to surface what operators don't say themselves.

What you'll do:

  • Build and maintain trackers, dashboards, and scripts

  • Monitor multiple chains, track transactions, and follow contracts onchain

  • Investigate transaction flows and surface insights for the research and content team

  • Follow trails through data – the work is genuinely investigative

What we're looking for:

  • Experience with trackers, dashboards, and scripts; smart contracts and transaction flows a strong plus

  • Multi-chain experience ideally (EVM, Solana, BSC, TRON, etc.)

  • Hands-on with blockchain explorers and analytics tools

  • Background in a crypto product (exchange, DeFi) is a big plus

  • Investigative mindset – you enjoy digging through data and following trails

To apply, please include:

  1. Onchain tools, trackers, or investigations you've worked on (links / addresses welcome)

  2. Your favorite analytics tool and something you've built or found with it

  3. Your availability and preferred setup (full-time or contract)

Engineer Chief Rebel: Full Stack Engineer (AI-Forward)

Full-stack engineer builds and maintains production platforms using Next.js, Go, and AI workflows, working across frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure.

Mid Posted 3 days ago We Work Remotely — Programming
What this role involves

Headquarters: Austin,TX
URL: https://thechiefrebel.com/

Why This Role Matters

The small business market is massive and almost entirely untouched by modern technology. We're building the platform that changes that. You won't be joining a team that's figured it all out. You'll be one of the people who figures it out, and your fingerprints will be on the architecture.

About the Role

You'll work directly with our Head of Engineering and Head of Operations, embedded in the core product team from day one. This is not a siloed role. You'll have visibility into how decisions get made and direct input into what gets built next.

What You'll Do

Own problems end to end. Discovery, design, build, deploy, and debug with minimal hand-holding.

On the technical side:

  • Build and extend a production-grade platform running Next.js, Go, Supabase, and an async job pipeline built for scale
  • Work across the full stack, React and TypeScript on the frontend, Go on the backend, with cloud infrastructure on Fly.io and Vercel
  • Integrate and manage AI workflows using large language models, document intelligence, and structured data extraction, and know when not to use AI at all
  • Build and improve async processing pipelines with signed delivery, auto-retry, and idempotency built in
  • Help design and build out our go-to-market funnel infrastructure, including tooling that supports outbound prospecting, lead enrichment, and off-market deal sourcing
  • Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to engineering standards as the team grows

On the team side:

  • Work closely with the Head of Engineering on architecture, code quality, and technical direction
  • Partner with the Head of Operations to build tooling that supports go-to-market execution and off-market deal sourcing
  • Translate vague requirements into working systems, and push back when the scope doesn't make sense
  • Help establish engineering culture and practices as the team grows

What We're Looking For

Skills matter. Mindset matters more.

We want someone who:

  • Has 5+ years of professional engineering experience, with real production systems to point to
  • Has built AI-integrated systems end to end, not just connected an interface, but thought through orchestration, output quality, and what happens when things go wrong
  • Is comfortable with Go or Python on the backend and React with TypeScript on the frontend
  • Has worked with PostgreSQL, async job queues, cloud infrastructure, and multi-tenant data design
  • Understands how to scope and ship under uncertainty without needing perfect requirements
  • Can talk through technical decisions with a non-technical founder and a developer in the same conversation
  • Has opinions about the current AI tooling landscape, including contrarian ones

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience building go-to-market or sales funnel tooling, outbound automation, or data enrichment pipelines
  • Familiarity with document parsing, financial data normalization, or working with messy real-world inputs
  • Background in tools built for small business, financial services, or professional services markets
  • Interest in how private companies are valued and what makes them attractive to buyers

What You Won't Find Here

A slow approval process. A 12-step standup ritual. A roadmap locked in six quarters ago.

What You Will Find

  • Direct access to leadership and real influence over product and technical direction
  • Flexible, remote-first work
  • Work with tangible impact on business owners who have spent years building something
